Former Undersecretary of the Air Force Lisa Disbrow Provides Career Advice and Insights

Lisa Disbrow, former Undersecretary of the Air Force,  was the guest speaker for our 6 Feb 19 quarterly dinner held at Moody Hall on the campus of VMI.
Ms Disbrow spoke before an audience of about 50, including a large contingent of cadets from VMI and VT.  She related her professional progression through 32 years of civilian and military service in national security. Those include a 24 year career in the active and reserve USAF as an intel officer, retiring as a Colonel.  In addition, she had a tour as a civilian at the National Reconnaissance Office, on the Joint Staff, on the National Security Agency at the White House, as Financial Management & Comptroller of the Air Force, and then the 25th Under Secretary of the Air Force.  Finally, she served as Acting Secretary of the Air Force before leaving government service in 2017.  She currently serves on a number of corporate boards, including the Air Force Association.  An interesting and probing question and answer period afterwards demonstrated the audience's engagement in what she had to say.  It was another impressive AFA event.  Chapter President Robin Thompson also gave an update on current chapter activities.
